#10 Tartans Fall to #1 CMS in ITA National Team Indoor Championship First Round

(NICHOLASVILLE, Ky.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked 10th in the nation, opened play at the 2024 ITA National Team Indoor Championship on Friday, March 1 against first-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) Colleges. The Tartans are now 5-2 after dropping the match, 6-1.

Inside the Results

  • CMS took the doubles point after sweeping the results with all matches played to six.
  • Junior Sarah Yang defeated Lindsay Eisenman by a 6-1, 6-4 score at first singles for the Tartans' lone point.
  • Senior Danna Taylor fell 6-3, 6-4 in a close match at second singles to Audrey Yoon.

Notes

  • The Tartans have played in all 15 ITA National Team Indoor Championship tournaments, winning the inaugural event in 2009 and finishing second five straight years from 2012 to 2016.
