ITA Honors Women’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Four Named Scholar Athletes

(TEMPE, Ariz.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the 15th straight season and 22nd time in the last 23 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, four players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above during the last academic year. The women's team achieved a cumulative average of 3.49 for the year.
In addition to the team honor, juniors Zoe Angell and Sarah Yang, junior Simran Bedi, and first-year athlete Ainika Hou were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes.
In order to be eligible to be an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have an academic year GPA of at least 3.50 and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
