#13 Tartans Move to 9-0 with 6-1 Win Against #17 Christopher Newport

(ORLANDO, Fla.) - The 13th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team topped 17th-ranked Christopher Newport University on Friday, March 7 by a 6-1 score and are now 9-0 for the season.
How it Happened
- The doubles point was won by the Tartans after freshman Rachel Li and junior Anika Joshi won 6-1 in the third position and junior Divya Venkatarma and freshman Ancele Dolensek won 6-2 in the second position.
- Freshman Shelly Zinchenko was first to finish singles play, winning 6-2, 6-2 at second singles.
- Freshman Victoria Gazda also won 6-2, 6-2 and gave the team a 3-0 lead after winning at fifth singles.
- The match point was won by Venkatarama at fourth singles by a 6-4, 6-4 score.
- Other wins came from junior Manuela Van Cotthem at sixth singles and Dolensek at third singles.
