#13 Tartans End Spring Break Trip With 7-0 Win Over #27 Grinnell

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked 13th in Division III, closed its spring trip with a 7-0 win over 27th-ranked Grinnell College on Sunday morning. The Tartans are now 12-0 in dual action.

Inside the Results:

  • Carnegie Mellon swept doubles play to collect the point. Senior Zoe Angell and junior Anna Chow won 6-2 at one, the second doubles team of freshman Ancele Dolensek and junior Divya Venkatarama won 6-2 while the Cardianla nd Gray third tandem of junior Anika Joshi and freshman Shelly Zinchenko won 6-1.
  • Venkatarama claimed the first point of singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the third spot and the freshman Victoria Gazda won 6-1, 6-1.
  • The match was sealed when Dolensek won 6-1, 6-1 at four singles.

Next Up

  • The Tartans will next compete on Saturday, March 15 with a pair of matches against Washington and Lee University and the University of Mary Washington. Both events will be held at Mary Washington.
