Tartans Rack Up USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the men's 2015 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list. A total of 170 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.

The women's track and field team achieved a team GPA of 3.47 for the 2014-2015 school year to earn a place on the All-Academic team.

In addition to the team earning the award, seniors Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) and Sasha Spalding (Springhill, Fla./Springstead) were named to the team individually. Both Kiekhaefer and Spalding qualified for the award by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better with either competing at the NCAA Championships or finishing the season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event.
