Tartans Place Fifth at UAA Outdoor Championships

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team finished the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday, April 28 with a final score of 71 points to place fifth. Washington University in St. Louis won the meet with 249.5 points.
Top Performances on the Track
- Graduate student Liz Barre finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.58 and second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.34.
- Senior Isabella Rhee finished seventh in the 400-meter run with a time of 58.51.
- Sophomore Jacqueline Liu finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2.16.62.
- Senior Sophia Zalewski finished eighth with a time of 17:53.11 in the 5,000-meter run.
- Sophomore Zoe King, senior Emily Lannen, Liu, and Rhee finished fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:03.67.
- Sophomore Iniyaa Mohanraj, graduate student Emily DeAugustino, junior Jocelyn Kiefel, and King finished with a time of 51.79 in the 4x100-meter relay.
Top Performance in the Field
- Barre won the high jump after clearing 1.61 meters.
- Junior Jolie Wasserman finished eighth in the javelin throw with a mark of 32.30 meters.
- Kiefel finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.25 meters.
