Tartans Compete at D3 Elite Meet and in Boston

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at two different meets over the weekend. A few athletes competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invite at Boston University while the rest of the team competed at the D3 Elite Meet at Nazareth University.

Top Performances in Boston

  • Sophomore Maya Ducker ran the 3000-meter run in a personal-best time of 10:13.72. Junior Orit Shiang finished in a time of 10:17.77 and sophomore Ananya Devpura finished in 10:19.28.
  • Junior Jackie Liu finished the 800-meter run in 2:16.37.

Top Performances at Nazareth

  • Senior Alyssa Hoffman placed second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:07.63.
  • Junior Zoe King earned third in long jump with a mark of 5.25 meters. Freshman Alin Aydogan placed seventh with a mark of 5.19 meters.
  • Senior Jocelyn Kiefel placed third in triple jump with a mark of 11.01 meters. Junior Iniyaa Mohanraj placed fourth with 10.98 meters.
  • Sophomore Hazel Buonopane earned sixth in pole vault with a mark of 3.33 meters.
  • Aydogan placed fifth in 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.55. Mohanraj placed seventh with a personal-best time of 9.69.
  • Senior Caitlin Guilfoyle, junior Margaret Ann Healy, and freshman Elise Kempf placed fourth, fifth, and sixth in the mile with times of 5:15.71, 5:16.61. And 5:18.13 respectively.
  • Freshman Emma Horsley ran the 800-meter race in 2:19.54, placing fifth.
  • Senior Lauren May placed eighth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:56.29.
  • Junior Katie Monahan earned a mark of 11.77 meters in shot put, placing eighth.
