Tartans Tune Up for UAAs at Penn State and Mount Union

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team traveled to two meets on Friday. The Tartans competed in the Penn State Tune Up and the Mount Union Last Chance meet for the last competition before University Athletics association (UAA) Championship.
Top Events at Penn State Tune Up
- Senior Jocelyn Kiefel took second and junior Iniyaa Mohanraj placed fourth in the triple jump with marks of 11.28 and 10.59 meters, respectively.
- Mohanraj placed eighth in the long jump with a mark of 4.74 meters.
- Freshman Emma Horsley took first place in the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 2:17.91. Freshman Elise Kempf placed eighth with a time of 2:25.17.
- Senior Caitlin Guilfoyle set a time of 5:09.54 in the mile, taking seventh place.
Top Events at Mount Union Last Chance
- Freshman Alin Aydogan took third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.61.
- The Tartans took third, fourth, and fifth in the 400-meter dash with freshman Catherine Stava completing in a time of 1:03.25, senior Sunny Tang in 1:04.42, and classmate Rhythm Satav with a time of 1:04.44.
- Senior Lauren May finished the one mile run in a time of 5:24.11 for fourth place.
- Sophomore Kara Mathias took seventh place in the 3000-meter run with a personal-best time of 10:59.58.
- Freshman Catalina Howells took fifth place with a mark of 1.57 meters in the high jump.
- Senior Katie Monahan placed seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 13.80 meters.
- Sophomore Hazel Buonopane took seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.47 meters.
