Tartans Sweep Marietta to Open Home Quad

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted Marietta College Friday night and swept the Pioneers 3-0. The win moves the Tartans record to 8-3 while the Pioneers are now 9-4.

Inside The Box Score

• Junior Jane Dean led the attack with a team-high seven kills as she hit .389 for the match.
• Junior Laura Reichard along with freshmen Isabella Sierra and Elizabeth Schlemmer each had six kills.
• The Tartans had 11 service aces as a team with junior Mindee Lai leading with three.
• Seniors Olivia Devereux and Stella Yan each had two aces along with Reichard,
• Yan ended the match with 26 assists.
• Reichard had a team-best 18 digs with Yan the only other Tartan with double-digit digs as she ended with 13.
• At the net, freshman Bella Woodard had a season-high five block assists while Sierra and Dean each tabbed four block assists.

Notes and Notables  

• The Tartans are 6-2 all-time against the Pioneers
• Carnegie Mellon has now won four straight over Marietta
• Yan now has 1,685 assists for her career and ranks eighth all-time in program history.
