Tartans Close UAA Round Robin with 3-0 Win Against Brandeis

(NEW YORK, N.Y.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team continued play in the University Athletic Association Round Robin #1 on Sunday at New York University and earned a 3-0 victory against Brandeis University to finish the first weekend of competition 3-0.

  • The Tartans won with set scores of 25 -17, 25-21, and 25-19.
  • The Tartans hit a .267 compared to the Judges' .196.
  • Graduate student Laura Reichard led the team's offense with nine kills out of the team's 36. Junior Katherine Jackson and junior Julianna McFarland both followed with seven.
  • Junior Kai Herchenroether hit a team-best .357 with a season-high six kills.
  • Sophomore Neha Tummala handed out 26 of the team's 32 assists.
  • Three Tartans had two service aces: senior Abby Chen, junior Elizabeth Schlemmer, and Tummala.
  • Reichard had 12 digs, followed by sophomore Zoe Gavros and Tummala with nine.
  • Jackson also had three block assists.
