Tartans Closeout Season in NCAA Second Round

(BALTIMORE, Md.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday evening and dropped a 3-0 decision to the host, third-ranked Johns Hopkins University. The Tartans conclude their season with a record of 20-12 while the Blue Jays improve to 31-2.

- The set scores were 25-17, 25-23 and 25-20.
- Junior Elizabeth Schlemmer headed the offensive attack with 10 kills. Graduate student Laura Reichard along with junior Julianna McFarland each had eight kills on the night.
- Sophomore Neha Tummala finished off the 2024 season by handing out 37 assists.
- Reichard recorded 10 digs to lead the Tartans defensively while senior Abby Chen finished her career with nine digs.

- This was the Tartans fifth appearance in the second round of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.
- This season was the fourth appearance in the national tournament under the direction of six-year head coach Anne Bock, and the 10th overall appearance in program history.
- Chen finishes her career with 1,968 digs, ranking fifth all-time in program history, and 185 service aces, ranking fourth all-time.
- Reichard finishes her career with 1,117 kills, ranking 12th all-time in program history, and 1,767 digs, ranking seventh all-time.
