Tartans Open Year at Panthers Opener
Aug 30 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team started the year at the Panthers Opener hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Schenley Park near the CMU campus. The women ran the 5k course against Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University, placing third.
Results:
- Junior Margaret Ann Healy led the Tartans with an 11th-place finish in 18:36.90
- Freshman Elise Kempf crossed second for the Tartans and 12th overall in 18:44.00
- Sophomore Ananya Devpura finished in 18:54.60 to place 14th
- Graduate student Caitlin Guilfoyle was fourth for the Tartans and 17th overall in 19:02.80
- Junior Jackie Liu, sophomore Maya Ducker, and sophomore Alaina Patel finished in succession in 19:13.80, 19:19.10, and 19:23.00, respectively.

The Tartans break for a week before another local race in Pennsylvania when they compete at the Robert Morris Invitational on Saturday, September 14 at 9:00 a.m. The race will be held at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pennsylvania.
