Kempf Leads Tartans in White Race at Paul Short Invitational, Place Fourth Among Division III Teams

(BETHLEHEM, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team placed eighth overall in the white race at the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational on Saturday. The women raced against 44 teams on the 6k course in a field of Division III runners.

Results:
- The first Tartan to cross was freshman Elise Kempf in 34th in a field of 384 runners with a time of 22:10.6.
- Junior Orit Shiang placed 38th with a time of 22:13.4.
- The third Tartan to cross was junior Margaret Ann Healy with a time of 22:15.5.
- Finishing 0.2 seconds behind Healy with a time of 22:15.7 was freshman Emma Horsley. Healy placed 41st with Horsley placing 42nd.
- Rounding out the Tartans top five was graduate student Caitlin Guilfoyle who recorded a time of 22:55.8.
