Tartans Place Sixth in Carnegie Mellon Invitational

(PITTSBURGH Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team hosted the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, October 12. The Tartans placed sixth out of 16 teams on the 5k course with a score of 159.

Top 5 Finishes

Pittsburgh, 64; West Virginia, 72; Point Park, 105; Duquesne, 113; West Virginia Wesleyan, 118

Results

  • Sophomore Kara Mathias crossed first for the Tartans in a time of 19:53.7 and 24th place out of 125 runners.
  • Senior Avery Tompkins finished right behind Mathias with a time of 19:54.2 in 25th place.
  • Senior Hayley Kilgore crossed with a time of 20:04.3 in 30th place.
  • Senior Lauren May finished with a time of 20:28.1 in 41st place.
  • Freshman Estee Teo rounded out the Tartans' top five, in 43rd place with a time of 2:32.1.
