Sophomore right side Ali Celentano (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Celentano receives the honor days after being named to the All-University Athletic Association squad.

Sophomore right side Ali Celentano (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) and junior outside hitter Senna Parsa (Bellevue, Wash./Newport) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) team. Celentano earned second team honors while Parsa was named honorable mention. This marks the 15th straight season that the Tartans have had at least two members named to the All-UAA team.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team finished fifth at the University Athletic Association Volleyball Championship on Saturday, November 3, at Emory University in Atlanta Ga. The Tartans were led by sophomore Ali Celentano’s (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) career weekend as they opened the tournament against Case Western Reserve University on Friday before playing the University of Rochester Saturday morning.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team nearly finished the regular season with two wins but were a few points short, splitting competition at the University of Mount Union, Saturday afternoon. The Tartans are now 14-16 overall heading into next week's University Athletic Association Championship.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team traveled to Frostburg, Maryland for two matches hosted by Frostburg State University on Saturday, October 20 and came home after a 1-1 day. The Tartans defeated host Frostburg 3-0 but fell to Salisbury University 3-0 in their first match.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team hosted the final day of the university Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #2 on Sunday, October 14. After the Tartans dropped a 3-0 decision to #1 Washington University they rebounded with a 3-1 win over Brandeis University. Carnegie Mellon is now 12-14 overall and 2-5 in UAA play.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed at the first day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #2 and split a pair of matches. The tow-day round robin is being hosted by the Tartans. Carnegie Mellon is now 11-13 overall and 1-4 in UAA play.

Against two ranked opponents, the Tartans dropped three contests to fall to 10-12 overall and 0-3 in the UAA.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted Waynesburg University Wednesday, September 26 in its final dual match of the season, and came away with a 3-1 victory winning by the scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-10. The win moves the Tartans record to 10-9 while the Yellow Jackets are now 5-9.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team split four matches at the Juniata College Invitational on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22. On Friday the Tartans fell to #23 Salisbury University 3-0 before defeating Franklin & Marshall College 3-0. The team wrapped up action on Saturday with a 3-0 win over FDU-Florham and a 3-1 defeat to #15 Juniata.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted its annual invite Friday and Saturday, September 14-15. The Tartans posted a mark of 3-1 improving their overall record to 7-7. The Cardinal and Gray picked up victories over Scranton, Pitt Greensburg and Elmira while dropping a match to Johns Hopkins.
