Andrew McGovern - Men's Track and Field

Senior Andrew McGovern of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team played a huge factor in the Tartans winning their fourth University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championship over the weekend. McGovern won the UAA title in the 800-meter run with a time in the finals of 1:51.71. In the prelims of the 800, the senior posted a school and UAA record time of 1:50.40. McGovern was also part of the distance medley relay that also won the UAA title with a UAA record time of 9:56.72. He then ended the championships on the 4x400-meter relay team that placed fourth with a season-best time of 3:22.63. McGovern's time in the 800-meter run currently ranks eighth nationally while the DMR time ranks 17th.
