1. What drew you to being a coach – why the path to intercollegiate athletics?

Athletics has always been an important part of my life. Other than volleyball, playing ice hockey was also a passion. At this level, our athletes make the choice to continue their career because they love the game and want to compete. I know the impact my coaches have had on my life, and I hope to do the same for my athletes.

2. What is your favorite memory about being a coach/employee at Carnegie Mellon?

In my short time of being a Tartan there are a few however, nothing beats being a part of the joy the day we took care of legendary Juniata.

3. What is your favorite thing about campus at Carnegie Mellon University?

Skibo Gymnasium is our home. Even when it’s 100 degrees and the gym floor is slick from sweat and humidity.

4. Who has been the most influential person in your career?

Tom Turco, my high school volleyball coach and mentor. I am so grateful for all the life lessons that he taught me. Lessons that I will continue to use in my personal life and pass down to my athletes. In the words of Pat Riley, “There are only two options regarding commitment. You're either in or out. There's no such thing as a life in-between.”

5. What is the most memorable athletic event you have witnessed / been a part of outside of Carnegie Mellon Athletics?

Being a die-hard Boston sports fan we have been blessed with many championships over the better part of my life. However, I will never forget the feeling of watching the Boston Bruins win the Stanley Cup Championship in 2011.

6. If you weren't coaching, what would you see yourself doing?

Working with special needs students, teaching adapted physical education. (My previous occupation before coaching full-time.)

7. What is one thing that no one knows about you?

I was inducted into my high school athletics hall of fame in 2018!
