Senior Thoughts with Courtney Ollis

Senior Thoughts with Courtney Ollis

A four-year women's tennis athlete, Courtney is a mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering double major from Suffern, New York. Courtney will be working at Accenture in Seattle, Washington.

Favorite team memory: Too many to count. Beating #5 ranked Pomona Pitzer senior year after losing to them in all my past years or sweeping Chicago 5-0 at indoors sophomore year.

Proudest athletic achievement: Winning ITA Regionals in the fall and making it to nationals in Georgia to become an All-American.

Funniest team memory: Car rides in the Jeep with the top down singing karaoke with my teammates.

Hope for future of your team: Continue to remain top 5 in Division III and be as close friends as we have been in my 4 years.

Something you'd like to say to your underclassmen teammates: There is no doubt that playing a sport at a rigorous academic school like CMU is tough. But for all the stressful moments, don't forget to smile and have fun some times and don't take anything for granted!

Reason you chose Carnegie Mellon and how it's effected you: Great balance of athletics and academics. It has really helped me learn so many life skills from time management to leadership to team work.

An athletic opportunity you're thankful for: Competing in the Elite 8 of NCAAs with my teammates.

Team you enjoyed competing against the most and why: Chicago since they have always been a big rival of ours and we have gone back and forth over the years.
