Garrett Earns Second University Athletic Association Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior punter Patrick Garrett (Glenshaw, Pa./Fox Chapel) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week following his performance against Case Western Reserve University in the 26th Academic Bowl on Saturday, November 12. This marks the second time this season Garrett has received the honor.

In the 38-24 setback to Case, Garrett booted a career-high seven punts, averaging 44.1 yards per punt. He also recorded a career-long 60-yarder and placed two of his punts inside the Spartan 20-yard line in his final game for the Tartans.

Garrett ends the regular season as the top punter in the UAA with an average of 41.7 yards per punt in 2011.  He also ranks seventh in Division III.
