(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University football team will host Denison University on Saturday, October 6 on Homecoming at Gesling Stadium. The game is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
Carnegie Mellon and Denison will meet on the gridiron for the 10th time Saturday afternoon with the Big Red leading the series 5-3-1. However, the Tartans have won three of the last four meetings. The teams first met in 1909 with the contest ending in a 0-0 tie before Denison won four straight from 1962-1965. The Tartans' first victory over the Big Red came in 1997 followed by a Denison victory in 1998 and then a Tartan win in 1999. The last time they met was at Denison in 2000 with the Tartans winning 20-7.
Carnegie Mellon will enter the contest with a 4-1 mark after dropping a 54-28 decision at #17 Wabash College last Saturday. Denison comes to Pittsburgh with a record of 2-2. The Rig Red is riding a two-game winning streak including a 30-22 victory over Wooster last week.
