Tartan Football Announces 2016 Incoming Class

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University Head Football Coach Rich Lackner has announced the Tartans 2016 recruiting class.  The Tartans will welcome 27 newcomers that hail from 10 different states.

Carnegie Mellon will enter its third season as an affiliate member for football in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).  The Tartans will maintain their three-game University Athletic Association (UAA) schedule with Case Western Reserve University, the University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis. Case Western Reserve also is an affiliate PAC member.

Carnegie Mellon ended its 2015 season on a seven-game winning streak and won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Legacy Bowl to finish with an 8-3 mark.  The Tartans will open the 2016 campaign on Saturday, September 3 when the Bears of Washington U. travel to Pittsburgh for a 12:00 p.m. kick.
