Bikulege Named PAC Offensive Player of the Week; Brod Honored by D3football.com

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior running back Luke Bikulege (Greer, S.C./St. Joseph's Catholic) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Offensive Player of the Week while senior defensive end Sam Brod (Austin, Texas/Vandegrift) was recognized nationally on the D3football.com Team of the Week. The honors come after the Tartans' 20-7 win over Geneva College Friday, April 9.

Bikulege turned in a career night Friday, as he finished with 30 carries for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He scored on a 3-yard rush in the first quarter and a 13-yard rush in the second, marking his third straight multi-touchdown game of the season. The senior currently leads the PAC with 343 yards rushing and six touchdowns, as he averages 5.7 yards a carry.

Brod headed a defense that held the Golden Tornadoes to 202 yards of total offense. It marked Carnegie Mellon's 20th straight win when holding their opponent to under 300 yards of total offense. The senior tied a career-high with eight tackles. Brod added 2.0 tackles for loss. The senior received the same accolade his junior season following the win over Geneva where we also had eight tackles.

Carnegie Mellon will travel to Westminster College on Friday, April 16 for the final regular season game before the PAC Crossover contest April 23. Kick in New Wilmington is set for 7:00 p.m.
