Robert Coury Named PAC Defensive Player of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior Robert Coury was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week following his play Saturday in the Tartans' 41-10 win over Waynesburg University Saturday afternoon at Gesling Stadium.

Coury played a huge part in holding Waynesburg to 191 yards total and allowing only 71 on the ground. He notched a team-high 11 tackles with 2.5 for a loss and recorded a half sack. His 11 tackles marked the 10th career game recording double digit tackles. Coury ranks seventh in program history with 229 tackles for his career and needs four more to move into sixth, seven for fifth and 18 for fourth.

Carnegie Mellon will travel north to Grove City College to play the Wolverines in a 7:00 p.m. kick on Saturday, September 23.
