Kolke Named PAC Offensive Player of the Week, Mills Honored by D3football.com

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore wide receiver Reece Kolke was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Offensive Player of the Week while graduate stu-dent punter and quarterback Ben Mills was recognized nationally on the D3football.com Team of the Week for their play in the 15th-ranked Tartans' 30-27 overtime win at Washington and Jef-ferson College on Saturday, September 28.
Kolke turned in a career day, as he finished the game with 162 receiving yards on five receptions along with three touchdowns. His touchdown receptions came from 84, 36 and 20 yards with the last one coming on the Tartans second play in overtime for the game winning score. His 162 yards receiving is the most by a Tartans since Kris Hughs had 190 against Whitworth on September 2, 2022.
Mills had six punts that averaged 45.2 yards with a long of 59 in the overtime win. He placed three punts inside the Presidents 20-yard line with no touchbacks, including two inside the 5-yard line, one on the 1-yard line and the other of the 4-yard line. Mills also passed for 218 yards and three touchdowns and added 50 yards on the ground. Mills' three touchdown passes gave him 56 for his career, tying the most in program history.
Carnegie Mellon will host Waynesburg University on Saturday, October 5. Kick is set for 7:00 p.m. on the turf of Richard M. Lackner Field at Gesling Stadium. The game will be the 12th Annual Cindy Lackner Game.
