Young Named PAC Defensive Player of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University graduate student linebacker Logan Young was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week. Young garners the accolade following his play in the 13th-ranked Tartans' 63-10 win over Allegheny College on Saturday, November 9.

Young headed a defense that set a school record by holding Allegheny to -26 yards rushing on Saturday. He accounted for three turnovers, two interceptions and a fumble recovery, including returning one of his interceptions 50 yards for a touchdown. Young also finished with five tackles, three solo, and a tackle for a loss in the win.

Young is now tied for fourth on the Tartans all-time interceptions list with 13 and needs three to become the all-time leader.

The Tartans will travel to Cleveland, Ohio for the 38th annual Academic Bowl against the Spartans of Case Western Reserve University. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 16.
