2024 NFF Annual Awards Dinner - live video
(IRVING, Texas) – The 2024 National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame's 66th Annual Awards Dinner, where Carnegie Mellon University graduate student linebacker Robert Coury will be recognized as a NFF Scholar-Athlete, will be streamed live on ESPN+ available everywhere via the ESPN app. The decorated event, which has one of the most powerful audiences in all of sports, will be held Tuesday, December 10 at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas with the live stream from 6:00 p.m. PST to 9:00 p.m. PST.
On October 23, Coury was named one 16 finalists out of a semifinalist pool of 203 for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, presented by Fidelity Investments. The award, regarded as the academic equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, is given annually to the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership amongst all Divisions. As part of being a member of the elite NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class, Coury will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship and has a chance for that scholarship to be increased to $25,000 with the announcement of the 35th William V. Campbell Trophy winner on December 10.
Coury is joined by Luke Lehnen of North Central and Brayden Long of Slippery Rock as the only non-Division I honorees. Coury carries his on-field excellence into the classroom and community and becomes the Tartans' sixth NFF National Scholar-Athlete. He joins 1987 honoree Bryan Roessler, 2006 honoree Aaron Lewis, 2008 recipient Brian Freeman, 2017 graduate Sam Benger and 2019 finalist Michael Lohmeier. The six representatives are tied for the most by a Division III institution with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
