Bio
Kevin Sheridan enters his seventh season on the Carnegie Mellon staff and will be coaching the inside linebackers. In 2018, Sheridan joined the staff as a volunteer assistant working primarily with the H-backs.
The last two seasons (2022 and 2023), Sheridan coached Robert Coury who was named to three different All-American teams - American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Associated Press (AP) and D3football.com, as well as being named an Academic All-America by the College Sports Communicators, each season. Following the 2023 campaign, Coury was named a semifinalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, an award given annually to the most outstanding NCAA Division III football player and recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and community service and Coury was the first Tartan to be named a semifinalist or finalist in program history.
In 2015 and 2016, Sheridan served as the tight ends and fullbacks coach at Central Catholic High School while also being the strength and conditioning coordinator. During his time on the staff at Central Catholic, the Vikings won two WPIAL championships and were PIAA Sate Champions in 2015 and runners-up in 2016. Prior to his stint at Central Catholic, Sheridan coached at Bishop McCort High School for nine seasons, serving as head coach his last three. The Crushers advanced to seven district final games winning four during his time on staff and were PIAA state runners-up in 2009.
Sheridan is a 2004 graduate of Mercyhurst College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree of arts history with a citizenship education certification. While at Merychurst, he was a three-year letterman for the Lakers’ football team as an outside linebacker and special teams player. He received his master’s degree in education in 2016 from Saint Francis University and is currently pursuing his principal certificate from Point Park University.
Sheridan and his wife reside in Ross Township with their Daughter Aubrey (12) and sons Owen (10) and Liam (8).
