Two Men’s Basketball Players Named All-UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team had two players named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Team by the league's coaches when the Association announced its postseason All-Star teams Wednesday, February 27.  Junior Asad Meghani (Dallas, Texas/The Greenhill School) found a spot on the Association's second team while junior Rob Mohen (Stamford, Conn./Regis (NY)) received honorable mention status.

Meghani led the UAA in three-point baskets made per game with a 3.3 average and ranked seventh nationally, while shooting 45.6% from behind the arc to rank fourth in the Association and ninth nationally.  He was the team's second leading scorer in 2012-13, averaging 13.0 points per game and ranked 10th in the UAA.  In 17 of the 24 games he played, he recorded double figures including a career-high 22 points at Emory University.  Meghani currently has made a trey in 31 straight games dating back to his sophomore campaign.  The junior currently sits third on the school's all-time career three-pointers made list with 150.

Mohen led the team in field goal and free throw percentage shooting 51.7% from the field and 80.0% from the charity stripe.  He was ranked eighth in the UAA in both categories.  The junior posted career highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds on two different occasions.  He led the team hauling in 5.2 rebounds per contest and was third on the Tartans averaging 10.5 points per game.
