Serbin Named First Team ECAC Division III South Men’s Basketball All-Star

(DANBURY, Conn.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Jack Serbin (New Albany, Ohio) garnered his second straight ECAC Division III Men's South Basketball All-Star honor. Serbin was named to the first team on Tuesday after garnering second team accolades a year ago.  The postseason honor is the second for Serbin as he was named to the University Athletic Association (UAA) Second Team.
    
Serbin led the Tartans averaging 18.4 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. He became the 19th player in program history to crack the 1,000-point barrier and finished the season with 1,073 career points. The junior recorded 16 double-doubles this season which tied him for first in the UAA and ranked ninth nationally at the conclusion of the regular season. He ranked sixth nationally and first in the UAA with 8.48 defensive rebounds per game at season's end.  
    
Serbin was also tops in the UAA in total rebounds and second in scoring. In 23 of the 25 games he played, the 6-foot-9-inch swingman recorded double figures while reaching 20 or more in seven. This season he tabbed career highs in points (37) and rebounding (20) and became the first Tartan to average a double-double in back-to-back seasons.
