Serbin Garners Third UAA Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the third time this season, Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball senior Jack Serbin (New Albany, Ohio) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following his performance this past weekend. Serbin led the Tartans to a 1-1 road mark with an 85-83 thrilling overtime victory at the University of Chicago on Sunday.

Serbin averaged 22.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game and was a perfect 10-of-10 from the foul line in the two contests. In the Tartans' overtime victory at Chicago, Serbin scored 26 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, dished out four assists and blocked four shots, three coming in the overtime frame. He converted 4-of-8 from behind the arc including a game-tying three-pointer with 13 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. It also marked Serbin's UAA leading 12th double-double.

Serbin currently leads the UAA, and ranks 15th nationally, in rebounding hauling down 11.4 boards per game. He also ranks second in the Association averaging 17.1 points per game.
