Serbin Repeats as First Team ECAC Division III South Men’s Basketball All-Star

(DANBURY, Conn.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior Jack Serbin (New Albany, Ohio) was named to the ECAC Division III Men's South Basketball All-Star First Team on Tuesday marking his second straight season appearing on the top team. It is the senior's third straight year being honored by the ECAC, as was named to the second team following his sophomore campaign.  The postseason honor is the third for Serbin as he was named first team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) and CoSIDA Academic All-America.

Serbin led the Tartans averaging 18.3 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. The senior recorded 17 double-doubles this season, which ranked top in the UAA and 14th nationally.  He ranked seventh nationally and first in the UAA with 8.88 defensive rebounds per game.  For the second straight season, Serbin was tops in the UAA in total rebounds and second in scoring.  The 6-foot-9-inch swingman recorded 10 contests of 20 or more points and scored in double figures in 22 of 26 games. This marked the third straight season he has averaged a double-double.

Serbin tied the school single-season record this year with 315 rebounds. He also finished his career ranked second on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,549 points, second in blocks with 181 and third in rebounding with 950 boards.
