(EDINBORO, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team traveled north on I-79 to play Division II Edinboro University on Friday afternoon. The Tartans dropped a 70-59 contest to the Fighting Scots in the final game of the 2021 spring season.

The Tartans had two players score in double figures with freshman R.J. Holmes (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai Stevenson) leading the way with 15 points. Senior Joey Krempa (Linden, N.J./Linden) chipped in with 13 points while connecting on three triples. Krempa and classmate Daniel Weiss (Marlboro, N.J.) each hauled down six rebounds to lead the Tartans.

Sophomore Nick Nakasian (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) and freshman Jack Stone (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) both had eight points with sophomore Josh Berry (Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) dishing out a team-high five assists. Senior Ethan Miller (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) ended his career with four points and four rebounds.

Friday's game marked the last as a Tartan for Miller, Krempa, Weiss and Zach Watson (Dublin, Ohio / Jerome).

"For the past 13 months, our seniors have been GREAT," said Head Coach Tony Wingen. "I am so proud of their leadership and communication, and their mentorship of our younger players. We all wish this year could have been different, but I hope Joe, Ethan, Daniel and Zach will look back on it with a true sense of accomplishment."
