Tartans Take Second at the Doug Rogers Memorial Golf Tournament
(LATROBE, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University golf team finished second at the Doug Rogers Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Saint Vincent at the Arnold Palmer's Latrobe Country Club. The Tartans carded a 322 on the par-72 course as the host Bearcats won the tournament with a score of 315.
Junior Ian Bangor (Moon Township, Pa./Sewickley Academy) finished the 18-hole memorial as the individual runner-up as he carded a 77, one-stroke off Derek Lingafelt of St. Vincent. Freshman Ben DuCarme (McMurray, Pa./Canon-McMillan) entered the clubhouse one-stroke back of Bangor with a 78 to tie for third-place in the field of 45.
Senior Jisoo Park (Dix Hills, N.Y./Pendleton School) fired an 83 while junior Grant Strimel (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and sophomore Cameron Low (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) each recorded an 84.
The Tartans will conclude their regular season on Thursday, April 25 when they host the annual Carnegie Mellon Invitational. Play will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Longue Vue Country Club.
