Qian Tied for 17th Heading into Final Round of the NCAA Championships

(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.) – Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the third round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday, May 17. Qian continued play in the championships after qualifying as one of six individuals not on the 18 top teams that made the cut following two rounds of play.

Qian carded a two-over par 74 in the third round on Thursday on the par-72, 6,844-yard El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The senior is currently tied for 17th-place, five strokes back, with a 222 (76-72-74) heading into the final round Friday. On hole 10, Qian chipped in from 38 yards out to score an eagle.

Qian will compete in the final round on Friday, May 19. He is set to tee off at 9:30 a.m.
