Tartans Tied for Third After 18 Holes of the Golfweek DIII Fall Invite

(MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team opened play at the 2022 Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational in Miramar Beach, Florida, on Sunday. The Tartans are currently tied for third in the three-day, 54-hole tournament out of 24 teams after carding a 285 on Sunday.

How it Happened:

  • Sophomore Justin Chan led the Tartans on Sunday carding a career-low round of four-under 67. He currently sits atop the individual leader board in a field of 120 golfers.
  • Junior Brian Xu also entered the clubhouse with a collegiate-best round carding a one-under par 70 and is tied for ninth.
  • Graduate student Henry Scavone and freshman David Zhang both fired rounds of 74 Sunday.
  • Freshman Andrew Wang completed play with a 75.
