Rodgers Named Finalists for 2023 NCAA Division III Dave Williams Coach of the Year Award

(NORMAN, Okla.) – Carnegie Melon University head men's golf coach Dan Rodgers has been named a finalist for the 2023 Division III Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Rodgers has guided the Tartans to a ranking of fifth nationally in the latest Division III Golfstat rankings as the Tartans are competing in their sixth NCAA Championship Tournament and fourth straight this week in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

This season, the Cardina and Gray have won two tournaments, the University Athletic Association (UAA) Match Play Championship and Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate, while recording top-six finishes in all nine tournaments this season. The Tartans were led on the course by five PING All-Region golfers, including UAA Rookie of the Year David Zhang.

Rodgers is joined by Evan Drew of RPI, Mitchell Fedorka of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Jim Ott of Illinois Wesleyan and John Sjoberg of Emory as the five finalists.
