Tartans Open Play at 2024 Golfweek October Classic

(SANDESTIN, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team started play at the Golfweek October Classic on Sunday and carded a 286. The Tartans are currently 11th in a field of 24 teams. The three-day event is hosted at the Raven Golf Club in SanDestin Florida, which is a par 71 and 6623 yards.

How It Happened
- Senior Justin Chan led the Tartans in round one with a four-under par 67 and is tied for third individually in a field of 120 golfers.
- Junior David Zhang hit a one-over par 72.
- Freshman Leonardo Vieira shot a 73.
- Freshman Will Blankenship carded a 74.
- Sophomore Steven Shea finished the first round with a 79.
