Tartans Second After Opening Round of O'Briant-Jensen Memorial

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the opening round on Monday of the 36-hole O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College on The Cardinal by Pete Dye Course in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Tartans carded a 291 (+7) and currently are in second in the 21-team field.

How it Happened:

  • Junior David Zhang carded a round of two-under par 69 on Monday and is tied for second individually in a field of 108 golfers.
  • Junior Jay Saluja carded a two-over par 73 and sits in 13th.
  • Ending play on Monday a stroke back of Saluja was freshman Leonardo Vieira with a 74.
  • Senior Justin Chan carded a round of 75.  
  • Entering the clubhouse with a 77 in the opening round was sophomore Ryan Dannegger.
