(PENFIELD, N.Y.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team recorded an eight-over par 296 in the third round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York. At the conclusion of the third round, the Tartans stood in fifth place with a team score of 894 (298–300–296) (+30) in a field of 43 teams heading into the final round. Due to the inclement weather forecast for Friday, the fourth and final round commenced immediately after the completion of Thursday's third round. The Tartans completed holes 11 through 13 and are at +33 for the championship before play was halted due to darkness.

How it Happened:

  • Freshman Leonardo Vieira carded a one-under par 71 in round three and is through 11 holes in round four at -1. Vieira is currently +1 for the championship and tied for fifth individually in a field of 225 golfers.
  • Senior Justin Chan shot a two-over par 74 in round three. In the fourth round, he completed 12 holes and sits at +2. Chan currently is +9 for the tournament.
  • Sophomore Ryan Dannegger fired his best round of the event with a three-over 75 in round three. He is through 12 holes in round four at -2 and is currently +10 for the championship.
  • Junior David Zhang also recorded his best round of the championship with a four-over 76 in round three. He has completed 13 holes in round four at +4 and sits at +24 overall.
  • Freshman Andy Yu posted a 79 in round three. He is through 12 holes in round four at +6 and is +18 for the tournament.
