Tartans Pick Up 7-0 Road Win Against Marietta

(MARIETTA, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team traveled to Marietta College on Saturday, September 28. The Tartans beat the Pioneers 7-0, putting them at 6-2-2 overall.

  • The Tartans scored four goals in the first half and three in the second half.
  • In the 13th minute, graduate student Dallan Schoenberger scored the first goal of the game on an assist by sophomore Dominic Hoar-Weiler.
  • The Tartans earned another point when the Pioneers knocked the ball into their own goal in the 33rd minute.
  • Assisted by freshman Drew McKim, graduate student Diederik Schlingemann scored on a header off a free kick in the 37th minute.
  • Senior Billy Boucuvalas scored the fourth goal of the half in the 43rd minute off an assist by sophomore Julian Koide.
  • Senior Chris Lee, senior Kyle Raker, and sophomore Juan Otero all scored unassisted goals in the second half.
  • The Tartans had a total of 23 shots, 14 of which were on goal. The Pioneers had four shots, three of which were on goal and stopped by junior goalkeeper William Burger.
