Indianapolis Bound! Swimming Relay Heading to Nationals

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Carnegie Mellon University 400-yard men's medley relay team has been invited to compete at the 2012 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on March 21-24. The meet will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana at the IU Natatorium.

Freshman Anton Razanav (San Diego, Calif./Westview), sophomore Austin Bohn (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona), junior Daniel Glaser-Garbrick (Dayton, Ohio/Centreville) and senior Matt Stanton (Richboro, Pa./Council) received an invite following their second-place showing at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships with a time of 3:24.12.  The four swimmers will also be competing in the 200-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relays.

Glaser-Garbrick, who is making his third appearance at the championships, will compete in three individual events; the 200-yard and 400-yard IM as well as the 200-yard butterfly.  The junior qualified for the 200-yard IM with a season-best time of 1:53.97 and recorded a personal-best time of 4:00.74 in the 400-yard IM. Glaser-Garbrick will also compete at the championships in the 200-yard butterfly for the third straight season, as he recorded a season-best time of 1:51.06.  He is a two-time All-American in the 200 butterfly after finishing eighth the previous two years.

Bohn will compete in two individual events; the 100- breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke.  The sophomore turned in career-best times of 57.58 seconds and 2:05.68 in the events this season.  Razanav will also compete as an individual in the 200-yard backstroke.  He won the 200-yard backstroke at the University Athletic Association Championships with a career-best time of 1:51.42.
