Cole recorded three career-best times as a sophomore, two of which came at the UAA Championships. His time of 22.67 in the 50-yard freestyle and 59.44 in the 100-yard breaststroke happened at the season-ending meet, while he achieved a time of 2:10.36 in the 200-yard breaststroke at the Total Performance Invitational hosted by Kenyon College.
2011-12
Cole finished his first season second on the team in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke. He completed the 100-yard breaststroke in a season-best time of 1:00.25 at the Total Performance Invitational hosted by Kenyon College and closed out the year with a time of 2:11.64 in the 200-yard breaststroke at the UAA Championships. He also competed in the 50-yard freestyle at the UAA Championships, touching in a top time of 22.82.
