Tartans Swim at Kenyon with Hopes of Qualifying for Nationals

(GAMBIER, Ohio) - A handful of swimmers on the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team traveled to Gambier, Ohio to Kenyon College's Fast Chance meet to see if they could better there times from the season and qualify for the NCAA Championships to be held in March.

Junior David Campbell (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) bettered his season top time and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200-yard butterfly, touching in 1:52.51.

Freshman Brian Walsh (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) finished the 200-yard freestyle in 1:41.92 for a season-best time and freshman Evan Li (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) touched in a season-best time in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.82.

Campbell along with others who have provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships throughout the season will find out if they've made the NCAA cut in the next few weeks.
