Swimming & Diving Honored by CSCAA

(EVANSTON, Ill.) - The Fall Team Scholar All-American awards were handed out by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) and both of the Carnegie Mellon University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were honored.

The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The men's team earned a 3.26 cumulative GPA for the fall semester, with four athletes maintaining a perfect 4.0. In the pool, the men's team has set three school records and will have four swimmers at the NCAA Championships, as the 200-yard medley relay was invited to the meet.

The women's team earned a 3.44 cumulative GPA for the fall semester, with six athletes recording a perfect 4.0. The team set records in four events so far this year and will have four athletes competing at the NCAA Championships. The 400-yard medley relay was invited to compete as well as sophomore Gillian Crews (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) in the 100-yard butterfly.
