Divers Excel at NCAA Regional

(ITHACA, N.Y.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team had four divers compete at the 2020 NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships over the weekend at Ithaca College.

Sophomore James Kyle (Austin, Texas / St. Stephen's Episcopal School) placed third on the 3-meter board while he was fifth on the 1-meter board with scores of 518.30 and 454.60.

Sophomore Judson Kyle (Austin, Texas / St. Stephen's Episcopal School) was fifth on the 3-meter with a score of 498.00 and placed eighth on the 1-meter with a score of 430.15 after coming off an injury.

Also competing for the Tartans was freshmen Oskar Eisgruber (Indianapolis, Ind. / Bishop Chatard) and Matthew Wagner (Mason, Ohio / Wiliam Mason). Eisgruber finished 14th on the 1-meter board with a score of 394.30 while Wagner was 16th with a score of 387.15. On the 3-meter, Wagner finished 14th with a score of 403.30, as Eisgruber was 18th with a score of 346.40.

On Monday, March 2, the NCAA will announce selections to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships which will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, from March 18-21.
