(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - For the second time this season the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team swept the weekly awards in the University Athletic Association (UAA). Senior James Kyle (Austin, Texas / St. Stephen's Episcopal School) was named the UAA Men's Diver of the Week with freshman Sammy Telanoff ( Santa Monica, Calif. / Santa Monica) taking the UAA Men's Swimmer of the Week award after their performances in a dual meet at Case Western Reserve University. Both earn the honor for the first time this season.

At a dual meet, Kyle earned two NCAA qualifying scores after winning one event and finishing second in the other. Kyle placed first on the 1-meter board with 282.10 points after six dives and followed his brother on the 3-meter board with 289.20 points. Both scores are season-bests for Kyle.

Telanoff won two events for the Tartans in the team's first dual meet of the season. The freshman dominated the 200-yard breaststroke with a winning time of 2:05.83, nearly five seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
