Kyle Wins 3-Meter Event at NCAA Diving Regional

(ITHACA, N.Y.) - Senior James Kyle (Austin, Texas / St. Stephen's Episcopal School) advanced to the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships after claiming first place on the 3-meter diving board at the 2022 NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships hosted by Ithaca College on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26.

Kyle topped the field of 16 divers on Friday evening with 552.75 points to claim the regional championship and automatic qualification to the national meet. On Saturday, Kyle placed seventh on the 1-meter board with 436.80 points.

Senior Jud Kyle (Austin, Texas / St. Stephen's Episcopal School) finished eighth on the 3-meter board Friday night with 450.45 points and sixth on the 1-meter board on Saturday with 438.15 points.

Freshman Jonathan Lindstrom (Bethesda, Md. / Walt Whitman) had an impressive showing placing 10th on the 3-meter board with 408.55 points and 14th on the 1-meter board with 388.50 points.

Kyle is the first Tartan men's diver to win a regional title and advances to the national meet for the second time in his career.

The 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships will take place from Wednesday, March 16 through Saturday, March 19, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
