Tartans Compete in Kenyon Fast Chance Invite
(GAMBIER, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team competed at the Fast Chance Invitational at Kenyon College on Saturday, February 24, earning multiple personal-best times.
Top Performances
- Senior Santiago Gomez placed third in the 200-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 1:40.04.
- Freshman Cole Venters placed sixth in the 200-yard freestyle with a personal-best time of 1:41.61.
- Freshman Ljubomir Popovic placed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.32.
- Freshman Miles Haraldsson placed sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a personal-best time of 52.23. Haraldsson also placed fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.20.
- Graduate student Willem Goedecke placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.09.
- Freshman Andy Lu placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:02.83. Freshman Thomas Xiao placed fourth with a time of 2:05.45.
- Graduate student Aleksander Tarczynski placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.15. Sophomore Todd Achuff placed sixth with a personal-best time of 50.42.
