Bio

Courtney Dunn joined the Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball coaching staff in September 2024 as the second assistant to head coach Kathy McConnell-Miller.

Dunn is a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder where she played for Coach McConnell-Miller before finishing her career at Saint Mary's College of California during graduate school.

In three seasons as a Buffalo, Dunn recorded 271 points and 214 rebounds in 77 career games. At 6-4, Dunn had the rare combination of size and athleticism and used that to create tremendous match-up problems with her ability to score from beyond the arc as well as with her back to the basket. She saw the floor like a guard and had a high basketball IQ from playing on one of the most well traveled AAU programs on the West Coast (East Bay Xplosion).

Dunn's playing career didn't end at Saint Mary's, where she averaged 16.1 minutes a game with 2.1 points and 3.8 rebounds a game, as she played professionally in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) from 2014 to 2018 in Puerto Rico, Mongolia, Russia, Germany, and Turkey.

Dunn's coaching background started in 2011 as a private basketball trainer which is something she still does today. From 2013 to 2017, Dunn was an assistant coach for the varsity team at Saint Mary's Catholic High School in Berkeley, California, where she served as the head junior varsity coach from 2015 to 2017 and accumulated a record of 32-3. She also assumed the role of interim head coach for the varsity team for the 2016-17 season.
