Rotary Club of Salem Chooses Or as Finalist for Jostens Trophy

The Rotary Club of Salem, Virginia, has announced Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball senior Catherine Or as a finalist for the 2025 Jostens Trophy. Or is one of 10 women finalists for the award, which is handed out to an outstanding NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball player who excels on the court, in the classroom and in the community.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team opened the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament on Friday afternoon with a 69-58 victory over Bridgewater State University in Baltimore, Maryland at Johns Hopkins University to advance to the second round.
Baney Named UAA Rookie of the Year; Or and Chintala Also Honored

Freshman Payton Baney and seniors Catherine Or and Anisha Chintala earned University Athletic Association (UAA) end of year honors when the coaches selected them to the 2024-25 UAA Women’s All-Association Basketball Team. Baney was recognized as the UAA Rookie of the Year while Or repeated as a first-team honoree with Chintala receiving second-team recognition.
Tartans Earn Fourth Bid to NCAA Tournament

The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team received an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship after finishing the regular season with a 20-5 record. The bid is the fourth in program history and first since 2015-16.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team finished the regular season with a 70-46 victory against Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, March 1 at home. The Tartans are now 20-5 overall and 10-4 in the University Athletic Association (UAA), placing second in the league with their most wins since 1992. The Spartans end the year at 7-18, 2-12.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team finished the road weekend with a 62-51 win at Brandeis University on Sunday, February 23 to move to 19-5 for the year and 9-4 in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Judges dropped to 12-12 and 5-8.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team traveled to compete against the 1st-ranked New York University Violets on Friday, February 21. The Tartans lost to the Violets, 83-52. This puts the Tartans at 18-4 overall and 8-5 in the University Athletic Association (UAA), while the Violets are undefeated at 23-0 overall and 12-0 in the conference.

Tartans Sweep Season Series with WashU After 76-70 Home Win

The Carnegie Mellon university women’s basketball team swept the season series with Washington University in St. Louis for the first time since 1991 after the Tartans defeated the Bears on Sunday, February 16 by a 76-70 score. The Tartans are now 8-4 in University Athletic Association (UAA) play and 18-4 overall while WashU drops to 5-6 in conference play and 14-8 overall.

Tartans Erase Deficit to Defeat Emory in Overtime

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team erased a 19-point deficit to Emory University to defeat the visiting Eagles in overtime, 78-66, on Friday, February 7 at the midway point of the University Athletic Association (UAA) season. The Tartans are now 15-4 and 5-3 while the Eagles are 12-7 and 4-4 leaving the Tartans in sole position of second place in the UAA.
